The ability to find beauty is an exciting, desirable skill. The first thing pressing on my mind is: what is beauty? Miriam Webster calls it: a combination of qualities that pleases the aesthetic senses. But that doesn’t cover it, does it? We see beauty in the most interesting places, in a flower or a nature scene, yes, of course, but how about in the face of an old woman, or in the crumpled face of a crying newborn baby, the decaying ruins of a ghost town, or the random chaos of the night sky …. So maybe beauty is the blooming, old, decaying, newborn, random chaos of life.
