In the film industry, it takes hundreds of artists to produce a movie; it’s the same for all of the creative industries, compromise is part of the process. In the music industry, artists are pushed by producers, record companies, and the direction of the popular market. Writing software code is a moving target driven by changing technology and competitive innovation.
Where are the lone wolves who can make the sacrifice and claim this badge? Are they only the painters, novelists, photographers, and solo artists who work without outside interference? Is this now the only real expression of art? Is there any room to take ownership of what we do and fight for something we believe in?
Artistic Integrity is a deep form of honesty; it’s hard to find, but worth looking for.
